2009 EXTINCT and ENDANGERED SPECIES PROJECT

Select an extinct animal whose common name or scientific name that starts with the same letter as your first name. Select an endangered animal that begins with the same letter as your last name. You may flip-flop so the extinct animal begins with the same letter as your last name. Use the Internet or books to find information about your animals. Be certain you have found consistent verified information on each animal prior to beginning your written work. You will use this information to create one Prezi(extra credit)/Glogster(extra credit)/PowerPoint/Google Docs presentation representing both species (animals). Several slides per animal will be necessary for the presentation. Students must have three citations per animal (six total) by Thursday Dec. 10th.

Your Presentation should include:

The common name and the scientific name (Genus and species) of your animals

Drawing/Images of each animal for presentation (select large or extra-large image file sizes)

One to two paragraphs per animal on 5x8 size note cards (these 5x8 cards will be turned in at the time of the presentation) – These typed paragraphs should incorporate the following information for each animal:

Description of the animal including size, coloration/s, characteristics

Steps being taken to save the endangered animal
